Hong Kong pickup is just a two minute drive from my house, and for that I am so thankful - because this is definitely my favorite Chinese takeout in SOMD! The portions are big and the prices are really great - the lunch special is enough for two meals for me, and is crazy cheap! Their orange chicken is great, along with their hot and sour soup. NOT TO MENTION how quickly it takes for your food to be ready. I can appreciate that the wait isn't long at all - definitely worth having to drive to pick it up!

I"m browsing for good Chinese takeout in SOMD. Have Hong Kong changed ownership recently? I used to use this for many years, then about 2 years ago we did late night (about 9 pm) on the way home. Got home and portions of the chicken (hunan) were rancid, I mean gag rancid. Took it back and asked for my money back.. they wanted to redo my order, I refused and demanded they take the food back and return my money. They gave me a hard time because I had taken a bite out of the chicken? I had returned the 'partially eaten' chicken in a plastic bag!! Unless they have change ownership in the last year or so don't recommend, or don't go towards the end of day... chicken doesn't sit well.

I dont usually write review because i think it is a waste of my time but with my negative experience that i had with this restaurant i dont have a choice but to write one up to give warning to others. On 9 july 2015 at about 1400 i bought the sweet and sour pork and pepper steak lunch specials. i went home to the barracks where i live as a geo bachelor and ate the sweet and sour pork right away. as soon as i was done i went back to work to stand watch all night. at around 1730 i started to have clammy hands and stomach ache. i decided to drink water since i cannot leave work until 2300 that night. 2 hours later i am already nauseous. At t his time i start contemplating on what i did or ate and i remember the sweet and sour pork that i just had for lunch which is the only one i had before coming back to work. by 2100 i went to the bathroom and use the toilet. i had diarrhea and nothing but liquid came out of my butt. as i spent the next 30 to 45 minutes in the head i told myself that i will never, ever ,everrr go back to that SH177Y restaurant again. My guess was that the cook who prepared my sweet and sour pork was the guy who just cameback from the head and did not wash his hand.! i hope this will help others on making the same mistake that i had.

I try to get take-out from this place at least once a week. I always order the same thing: Szechuan Beef with fried rice and Hot & Sour/Spicy soup. Plentiful portions at a reasonable price. I'm not a chinese food expert, but I love the way they prepare this. The soup! I have no clue what's in it. I can tell it has egg and chicken. I can't tell if it's some kind of mushroom that they put in there, but I love the stuff. I love spicy food so this is probably one of my favorite soups that I've ever had. Can't go wrong with this place if you're looking for a cheap, tasty, filling meal.

They have the best General Tso's tofu (bean curd) I've ever had (and I eat it at every Chinese food restaurant I go to. They will even make the fried rice vegan for you (by leaving out the eggs) if you ask them too. I've been to one of their other locations and it was the same quality. Yum!

This is exactly what you want when you think of takeout Chinese. A discrete, run-down hole in the wall that looks suspect but makes such great food. Lo mien here is very good and general tso chicken is done really well. Menu is extensive and Portions are generous. My guess is this is the best Chinese gets in southern Maryland.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
